Prologue: READ TO UNDERSTAND!
Blizzard alone can save all of the clans...
"Blizzardpaw!" Flamepaw yelled out in unison with Kanastar. Blizzardpaw was buried under a pile of rocks. Blizzardpaw was only an apprentice. If he died now....he would never be a warrior.
'hope Starclan will save Blizzardpaw...' Flamepaw thought, worried. Flamepaw and Blizzardpaw were best friends, despite the difference in name. The unthinkable was coming....to destroy all the catclans. If all the catclans were destroyed...all memory of the catclans would be washed away....as well as all of the cats in the CatClan Forest.
Chapter 1
Blizzardpaw turned to Kanastar. Kanastar was a old, fire colored she-cat. She was the leader of all BlazeClan.
"Blizzardpaw, you're late," Kanastar said firmly. "You need to show up on time to train with your warrior, Wretchedtail. This is just a mere warning. Do it again, and you'll be removed from apprentice." Blizzardpaw nodded. "Yes, mam, Kanastar. I am truly sorry. I will try to show up on time. It is just that I always train so late with Wretchedtail a-and..." Kanastar's eyes narrowed.
"Wretchedtail has been keeping you out late?" Kanastar asked, her eyes looking a little annoyed."How come? He knows he is not allowed to keep ANY apprentice out late, unless it is an emergency, and which there hasn't been recently...." Kanastar trailed off. "Go on, Blizzardpaw. I will speak of this with Wretchedtail later." Blizzardpaw nodded. "Yes, Leader Kanastar." Blizzardpaw padded off to Wretchedtail, a brown and white warrior cat. Wretchedtail's expression wasn't amused.
"Why did you tell Kanastar I was keeping you out late?" He demanded. Blizzardpaw's eyes looked sad, forgivable.
"I...I'm sorry, Wretchedtail...but you know the rules. It is against Warrior Code to keep an apprentice out late, unless an emergency. And there hasn't been one recently," Blizzardpaw murmured, her eyes narrowed. "You don't follow the code much, do you?" Wretchedtail smirked.
"Not really, no. Alright, let's go train, Blizzardpaw," He chuckled as they both padded off in some wild grass, the scent of crowfood filling Blizzardpaw's nose.
"Go get the crowfood. See if you can find it just by smelling it," Wretchedpaw commanded. Blizzardpaw nodded. She found it, lying in a hole.
"Good. We'll do some more tomorrow, Blizzardpaw. It's getting close to sundown," Wretchedpaw murmured. "I'm going to talk to Kanastar. I listened to your little conversation. She said she wanted to talk to you. Go rest." Blizzardpaw nodded and padded over to the nest. Her eyes drooped.
Wretchedpaw walked over to Kanastar, who was watching the medicine cat, Mintfang, take care of yet another sick warrior. Kanastar sighed.
"Yet another warrior gets sick...Mintfang, do you know what the cause of all these warriors getting sick?" She asked. Mintfang shook her head.
"Not yet, unfortunately. If more warriors get sick, I may be able to find out the cause and prevent it from spreading," She murmured. Then Kanastar's ears pricked up. She turned to Wretchedtail.
"Yes, what is it, Wretchedtail?" She asked, her tail twitched back and forth in annoyance. "We need to talk." Mintfang smiled smugly at both Wretchedtail and Kanastar. "Come back soon, dearies!" She called out as Wretchedtail and Kanastar padded away, deep into the forest.
"I've been hearing from Blizzardpaw you've been keeping her out late. How come? You know you're not allowed..." She began, Wretchedtail interrupted her. His tail twitched in annoyance as well, his eyes narrowed toward one of the trees.
"Unless its an emergency, I know, Kanastar, I know," Wretchedtail groaned in annoyance. Kanastar growled.
"Let me finish! So...what is your answer? How come you have been keeping Blizzardpaw out late?" She demanded. Wretchedtail's eyes went back to Kanastar and his tail stopped twitching. His eyes looked apologetic.
"I...I do not know...I...I guess I just want her to do very well...possibly better than the other apprentices," he admitted. Kanastar didn't buy it.
"That isn't a very good excuse. If you do it again, you'll be removed from warrior and have to do apprentice work all over again," she growled. "You may go and rest now." Wretchedtail's face looked serious, yet still troubling and calm. "Yes, Kanastar." He padded out of the forest and went to rest. Kanastar padded out as well, and then went back to Mintfang. A warrior had died.
"Who was it this time?" Kanastar asked, her voice soft. Mintfang had tears in her eyes.
"...it was the newest warrior. Heatstripe," she murmured, her voice sad and soft. Kanastar's eyes widened.
"Even Heatstripe.....Mintfang...have..have you found the cause..?" Kanastar asked her. She shook her head.
"No...but I have a possibilty. I think it's the animals. They're poisoned. Crowfood is poisoned, I checked it," Mintfang murmured. Wretchedtail's ears pricked up. He padded over to the two softly.
"C-crowfood?" He asked. She nodded.
"B...Blizzardpaw ate crowfood!" Kanastar and Mintfang's eyes widened.
"She...she d-did? At such a young age as well...she may not survive," Mintfang murmured.
Chapter 2
The three cats then calmed down. Mintfang smiled.
"Then again....I might be wrong, Wretchedtail, dearie. I am going to look more into this food the cats are eating. Don't worry, dearie. I'm pretty sure it is wrong," She said hopefully. Wretchedtail huffed.
"Yeah? Well...hoping isn't enough to save my apprentice," he mumbled under his breath and padded back to his nest. He fell asleep and had a dream that Blizzardpaw had died and never came back. Starclan didn't exsist.
"Wretchedtail!" Called a voice.
"Blizzardpaw!" Wretchedtail mumbled. He opened his eyes.
"You were talking in your sleep again, Wretchedtail. What is it so much that bothers you?" Blizzardpaw asked. Wretchedtail shook his head. "Oh it's nothing." "Come on, l-lets get training." Blizzardpaw nodded and they both padded over to the beginning of the forest.
"We're going to train deep in the forest, very deep, past MoonLightClan Territory," Wretchedtail warned.
"But...isn't that against Warrior Code?" Blizzardpaw asked him. Wretchedtail laughed.
"So what? You should know by now that I never follow the rules!" He chuckled.
"It's a miracle you became a warrior..." Blizzardpaw mumbled softly under her breath.
"What was that?" Wretchedtail asked politely. Blizzardpaw said it was nothing and then started padding deep in the forest.
"What are we going to do in the forest, Wretchedtail?" She asked.
"Oh, you'll see..." He growled humouresly. Blizzardpaw saw the anxiety and humor on his face and then started running away, fast.
"Get away, you cat killer!" She growled, angered. Wretchedtail stopped.
"Cat killer...hm. Blizzardpaw, stop!" He yelled out. Blizzardpaw kept running and ran into MoonLightClan's leader, Ministar.
"What are you doing in MoonLightClan Territory?" He demanded. Blizzardpaw's legs started shaking.
"Er...u-um....Wretchedtail w-wanted me to come here....and t-train...but he said I had to get p-past the MoonLightClan Territory...b-but I didn't w-want to do t-that," She stammered.
"Where is Wretchedtail?" He demanded. Blizzardpaw pointed to him. He wasn't far from her. Wretchedtail walked up, his expression amused.
"Yes, Ministar?" He asked, chuckling.
"Nothing is amusing about this! Silence, Wretchedtail!" Ministar growled harshly. "Why do you let your apprentice come? She said that you were coming here to train, but she had to get past here." Wretchedpaw's eyes narrowed.
"Er....I...I do not know, sir," He murmured. Ministar was still not amused.
"Do not tresspass here again, or you know what the consequences are!" He growled harshly and then turned to Blizzardpaw. His face calmed down."Since you are new, I will tell you what they are. Murder." Blizzardpaw's legs felt like they turned to jelly. She smiled and then walked out, wobbling and stammering. Wretchedtail walked out, high and mighty.
"You're such a tattletale, you know that?" He growled at Blizzardpaw. "I bet now Ministar is going to report this to Kanastar...and I'll go back down to a dumb, low-down apprentice." They padded back to the base and Kanastar, as well as Ministar were chatting. Kanastar and Ministar both glared at Wretchedtail.
"Just a second, please, Ministar," Kanastar told Ministar. Kanastar padded over to Wretchedtail. Blizzardpaw then went to her nest to rest."Blizzardpaw, you may rest. What were you thinking, trespassing into MoonLightClan Territory?!"
Wretchedtail shrugged.
"Erm...I thought it would be good training?" He lied.
"Don't do it again...or you really WILL be moved down to apprentice, Wretchedtail, I mean it," she growled harshly. Wretchedtail nodded and went to rest.
Chapter 3
The next morning, Wretchedtail padded over to Blizzardpaw's nest. The nest was empty, and then she saw Blizzardpaw with the medicine cat, Mintfang. He padded over to the nursing place.
"What's wrong with Blizzardpaw?" He asked.
"Greencough. She's got it severely. I looked into the food more and it seems it had been infected and I believe that's how she got greencough, but...she may not survive...but even if she did...I'm pretty sure...it will be a while," Mintfang replied, her voice filled with grief.
"G-g-greencough? O...oh...okay...should I go fetch some herbs?" Wretchedtail asked, worried about Blizzardpaw. Mintfang nodded. Blizzardpaw got up weakly.
"W...Wretchedtail...t...thank you...I'll have to repay you s..someday," she said, her voice weak and soft, raspy. Wretchedtail's face was warm. "Anytime." He said and then ran off into the forest to find some herbs for Blizzardpaw. While he did that...in DarknessClan....
The leader, Darklightstar, was angered by what had happened to almost all of his clans. Almost all of the clan had been wiped out by a journey to a twolegs farm to get an ingredient to cure the kits and the sick warriors. Only a few warriors and elders stand, as well as kits. Only 1 kit stood. Snowykit. She was a tough, stubborn kit, which she inherited from her mother, Skyflower. Wretchedtail was near DarknessClan base, searching for herbs, when he ran into the assistant leader, Svareclaw.
"Why are you here and who are you looking for?" He asked, his claws unscathed out now.
"Calm down, Svareclaw, I'm just here to get some herbs from your medicine cat, Darkfang, okay?" Wretchedtail growled, unscathing his claws over and over, ready to strike.
"Grr...don't start a fight right in DarknessClan base! Now go to Darkfang, Wretchedtail, before I claw you!" Svareclaw growled, his claws now back in. Wretchedtail put his claws back in slowly, incase Svareclaw was going to sneak attack him. Wretchedtail walked away, his tail twitching in annoyance. He walked off and then snuck into the medicine base.
"Hey, Darkfang, may I borrow some herbs for Blizzardpaw? She's got a terrible greencough," he replied, his voice now filled with grief and sadness. Darkfang turned to Wretchedtail, her expression warm like his, right before he left to fetch herbs.
"Sure, dearie, just be sure to get back to get back to your base safely, okay?" She said and got some herbs for Wretchedtail. Wretchedtail thanked her and then ran off to the base, and then saw Mintfang in the distance and then she got closer. He gave the herbs to Blizzardpaw.
"Will she be alright now?" He asked. She nodded.
"Just have to give her rest and then she'll be okay," Mintfang smiled. "I appreciate your concern for her."
"Wretchedtail...t-thank you so much...I will repay you someday...heh....I'm going to rest now," she said, her voice a little stronger now. It was now sundown and then Wretchedtail smiled and went to rest.
